Mr. Camacho, the deceased, exited the passenger side of the suspect vehicle and faced the officers. Mr. Camacho matched the description of the person seen firing at the vehicle moments earlier. Officers gave Mr. Camacho clear and loud commends to keep his hands raised high. Mr. Camacho briefly complied but then lowered his hands and reached for the area of his waistband. Mr. Camacho grasped a pistol in his waistband and began to pull upward all while being given commands to keep his hands in the air. Both involved officers fired their service pistols simultaneously, striking Mr. Camacho multiple times. While taking Mr. Camacho into custody, the officers determined the pistol was a compressed air pellet pistol. The pistol was a replica of a semi-automatic handgun. Mr. Camacho was pronounced dead at the scene by the on-call Justice of the Peace, JoAnn Prado. Custodial Death Report :: Page 7 of 7
