Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On September 1, 2026, Deputies with the Gregg County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a motorcycle for the traffic offense of speeding (75 mph in a posted 50 mph zone). The motorcycle began to speed away, fleeing at a high rate of speed. The pursuit last approximately 13 minutes with the motorcycle running red lights and stop signs along the way, changing directions multiple times, and ultimately colliding with another law enforcement agency's vehicle, from the rear. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the top of his vehicle, hitting the pavement of the roadway and was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
