Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 07/22/21 at 0107 hours, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Rosebud in reference to a shooting. Several 911 callers advised there were multiple shots fired in the area. While officers were enroute, an additional 911 caller advised a male subject was attempting to break into her residence at 232 Rosebud. It was later discovered the suspect had shot into the residences of 233 Rosebud and 232 Rosebud, and had fired several shots into his own residence at 228 Rosebud. Officers arrived on scene and observed a male subject on the front porch of 232 Rosebud, still attempting to gain entry into the residence. Officers gave commands to the subject, which were ignored. The subject kept concealing himself behind large overgrown hedges. The subject finally emerged from the hedges holding a black semi-automatic handgun. The subject attempted to get into the residence once more, and after that failed attempt, the subject raised the firearm and pointed it at the officers. One officer fired 5 rounds from his assigned duty patrol rifle (.223 AR platform) striking the subject several times in the upper torso. The subject died on scene.
