driver, later identified as Schaston Theodore Lamarr Hodge, did not stop, and a pursuit ensued.
After evading for several minutes, Hodge pulled into the driveway of a residence and stopped. Hodge got out
of the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the troopers, and fired. In response, both troopers returned fire with their
service pistols, striking Hodge.
The troopers immediately applied first aid to Hodge until he was transported to the hospital. Hodge was later
declared deceased by the hospital staff at approximately 11:42 p.m.
