Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: The preliminary investigation indicates that, at approximately 2323 hours on April 8, 2024, Grand Prairie Officers responded to the 800 block of Cambridge regarding a man confronting a neighbor in a threatening manner and potentially under the influence of an intoxicating substance. On arrival, officers attempted to contact the male at his residence. Officers knocked on the door, announced their presence, at which time they heard a gunshot from inside the residence. Officers retreated from the entryway to a safer position as the suspect exited the residence, armed with a handgun, and pointed the firearm directly at one of the officers. Both officers discharged their weapons striking the subject who was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department personnel.
