Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On July 13, 2025, at approximately 8:23p.m., Dallas County Sheriff's Department jail personnel were
conducting a "face-to-face" walk through security rounds. They were notified by multiple inmates, that
Quinnetta Ariana Brinkley B/F 11/07/2003 (Decedent), and another inmate, were "not moving". The officers
observed the Decedent laying on her bunk and was unresponsive.
The officers called for additional staff and medical personnel who responded to the location. Medical
personnel determined that the Decedent needed to be transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital (PMH) for
additional treatment. The officers were then notified of two additional inmates that began to have the same
symptoms as the first two, and that one of them had smuggled Fentanyl into the jail in her vagina, which all
four of the affected inmates allegedly had taken.
The Decedent was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital (PHM) and upon arrival, was pronounced
deceased at 9:25p.m., by Dr. Stacy Hail M.D.
Autopsy was conducted on 07/15/2025 the following are the medical findings:
1. Toxic effects of Fentanyl:
A. Postmortem toxicology positive for fentanyl and norfentanyl
B. See Toxicology results
