Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 3/27/23, officers were searching for a suspect who had shot and injured a member of the public. Officers located the decedent, who was the suspect in the aggravated assault deadly weapon which had just occurred. The decedent displayed an AR-15 rifle and began shooting at the officers who had responded to the listed address. The decedent indiscriminately discharged approximately 30 rounds towards officers and struck nearby residences and vehicles with several bullets. The decedent barricaded himself behind vehicles, remained armed with a rifle, and was continuing to present a threat to the officers and the public. An officer discharged his rifle at the decedent. The decedent was struck in the head and was disabled. EMS arrived and transported the decedent to a nearby hospital.
