Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 4/28/2024, San Antonio Police officers were present at the Fiesta Celebration at Market Square. At approximately 0007 hours, multiple gun shots were fired near the stage located at Dolorosa and Concho Alley. Officers posted nearby the stage observed a male run from where they believed the shots were fired from. Believing an active shooter situation was unfolding, officers immediately ran towards this male. As officers pursued the male, additional shots were heard. Two officers closest to the male that fled observed the male, the decedent, shoot another male. Fearing for that male’s safety, as well as the safety off all the other Fiesta attendees, the officers engaged the decedent with gunfire to stop his course of deadly conduct. The decedent was struck multiple times and he fell to the ground near the male he had shot. Officers secured both the decedent and the other male and administered medical care until EMS arrived. EMS would ultimately pronounce the decedent at the scene, and later the other male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
