Summary:
On 05-02-2023, at about 2149 hours, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) was dispatched to 3727
Forsythia after the decedent's wife requested assistance (the decedent was acting irrationally according to his
wife). Two deputies arrived and contacted the decedent's wife at the front door of the residence. Upon doing
so, the decedent's wife exited the residence; very shortly thereafter, the decedent exited the residence with a
rifle as the deputies, and the decedent's wife took cover and concealment. During this time, the decedent
brandished his rifle, and at some point began firing the rifle. In turn, the two deputies discharged their

deputy, and the decedent's wife; this deputy fired his handgun at the decedent and the decedent was struck
by gunfire. The decedent was subsequently pronounced deceased, on scene, at 2216 hours.
