Summary:
On May 5, 2026, San Antonio Police Department detectives received credible information that a wanted
fugitive, the decedent, could be located at 247 W. Dickson. The decedent had an extensive criminal history,

including a history of violence. Plain-clothes detectives established surveillance at the location, with SAPD
SWAT operators positioned as the arrest team. When the decedent was observed on foot in the parking lot,
the arrest team moved to take him into custody. To reduce the likelihood of violent resistance, a distraction
device was utilized to surprise and disorient the decedent prior to the arrest attempt. The decedent responded
by producing a handgun and firing in the direction of officers. Fearing for their lives, officers returned fire and
struck the decedent. Emergency medical personnel responded and rendered medical treatment; however, the
decedent succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
