Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On July 24, 2017 at approximately 0815 hours, Unit Officer conducted an additional observation check after taking note that the inmate was still lying in the same position on her bunk as on the previous observation check at 0800 hours. When the officer approached the inmate's bunk, she tugged on the mattress from underneath and called out the inmate's name with no response. Officer contacted Command Center to activiate a Code 1 Blue (medical emergency) at approximately 0818 hours. Medical staff arrived in the unit, initiated CPR and transported the inmate to the Medical Treatment Area via gurney. The Fire Department (SAFD) was dispatched, and arrived at the facility at 0841 hours. Emergency personnel continued CPR and subsequently departed the facility with the inmate at approximately 0855 hours for transport to Downtown Baptist Hospital where the inmate was pronounced dead at 0907 hours by the doctor.
