Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On July 11, 2017, Carlos Ramirez W/M 05/28/1994 (Decedent) was booked into the Dallas County jail under booking number 17036113 by the Dallas Police Department for Murder. During this time he was seen by the medical staff several times for medical problems. On January 17, 2018, at approximately 5:50 a.m., the decedent was escorted to the Acute Care Clinic at the Gill-Hernandez Jail Medical Facility after complaining of stomach pains. The nursing staff evaluated the decedent and determined that he needed to be transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment. At approximately 7:40 a.m., the decedent was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital by Arcadian Ambulance. The decedent was admitted to PMH and assigned room 626 on the 15th floor. On January 18, 2018, at approximately 8:01 a.m., Detention Service Office R. Wynne #7947 notified Detention Service Supervisor F. Rodriguez #3523 that the decedent had passed away. While under treatment at PMH, the decedent was pronounced deceased at Parkland Memorial Hospital on January 18, 2018 at 7:59 a.m., by Dr. M. Hon, MD. Dr. Hon notated that the cause of death was due to cardiac arrest. Kirsta, Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office, was notified and took possession of the body for a pending autopsy. A forensic autopsy was conducted on January 19, 2018 by the Dallas County Medical Examiner MD Candace Schoppe under service e number IFS-18-012987-ME. The autopsy results and cause of death are still pending.
