Summary:
On Monday, October 12, 2026, Fort Worth Police Officers received a call regarding William Dunn, who had
driven into the parking lot of a private business located at 2579 NE 36th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. The
business owner did not want Dunn on the property and requested that officers have him leave the premises.
Officer Brownlee #5113 attempted to explain to Dunn that he was not permitted to remain at the location.
Dunn then walked away from Officer Brownlee toward the far northeastern portion of the parking lot. This
area was congested with parked vehicles and vegetation along the fence line.
William refused to listen to Officer Brownlee and walked between a vehicle and a fence line; where he sat
down and pulled out a knife. He told Officer Brownlee if he came towards him, his life would be over. Assist

Officers arrived and attempted to disarm William by deploying a taser. The first set of probes did not connect
and William began stabbing himself in his chest with his left hand. A taser was deployed again and William
dropped the knife. Officers handcuffed William and then started applying first aid until medical personal
arrived. Although Officers applied a chest seal, preformed CPR and attempted to stop the bleeding, William
was pronounced deceased at 0804am, by medical personnel.
