Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On June 19, 2021, at 18:37 hrs, an officer was conducting a jail security check of a seperation cell and observed inmate Tony Martinez to be unresponsive on the floor with a ligature around his neck. Lifesaving measures were initiated and Emergency Medical Services responded. EMS transported inmate Martinez to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 19:39 hrs. the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit was notified and responded to conduct the investigation.
