Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On August 18th, 2021, Officers responded to 1041 Lanark Lp in reference to an active physical disturbance with a intoxicated male with a rifle. As Officers were responding, they were provided updates from Police Communications advising the male was breaking down an interior door with the rifle. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- Upon arrival, Officers knocked and announced their presence at the closed front door. A short time later the door was opened from inside and the male appeared from within and was pointing a rifle at officers. The male was given commands to drop the firearm, but did not comply with those orders. The male was shot once in the chest at which time he dropped the rifle.
