Summary of Incident
Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On November 6, 2021, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a Weapons Disturbance call,
where a male was reportedly threatening people with a shotgun. Deputies arrived, located the male holding
the shotgun, and ordered him to drop it. The male raised the shotgun and pointed it at a deputy. The male
refused numerous commands to drop the weapon and retreated to his residence. SWAT personnel arrived
and negotiators made contact with the male. The male refused to end the incident peacefully and ended
communication. The male continually exited and entered his residence with the shotgun, and an arrest
warrant was filed. On November 7, 2021, the male exited the residence and walked towards a wood line on
the edge of the property. SWAT personnel moved into the driveway, and the male returned towards the
residence. A SWAT member fired a less lethal device and struck the male in an attempt to get the male to
drop the shotgun. As the male regained his balance, he raised the shotgun and pointed it in the direction of
SWAT members. SWAT members fired their rifles towards the male, striking him. SWAT members rendered
first aid and paramedics arrived, determining the male had no signs of life.
