Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: Deputy was on location for a child custody dispute. Father of child was at child's grandfather's house to pick up his child. Father had full custody so grandfather was told he would have to allow child to go with her father. While deputy was outside speaking with father the child's grandmother exited the house and stated she needed an ambulance. Grandmother came out to the driveway and layed on the ground. Father was kneeling Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- down comforting grandmother when grandfather exited the house, approached the father, produced a handgun and shot the father in the head at point blank range, instantly killing the father. Deputy immediately drew his weapon and fearing the grandfather was going to shoot the grandmother and/or himself the deputy discharged his weapon striking the grandfather.
