Summary:
On Saturday October 25, 2025, at approximately 7:00 am, a 59-year-old male (Decedent Paul Victor) was
killed in a single vehicle collision at the 5500 block of Guadalupe Street. Moments before the collision,
Houston Police Department Northeast patrol officers located this same vehicle stopped in a moving lane of
traffic and noticed the driver asleep at the wheel. After trying to make contact with the driver, a brief pursuit
ensued wherein the decedent sped down Guadalupe Street, colliding with multiples parked vehicles, and
fixed objects.
Shortly after the collision, officers located the decedent laying unresponsive in a nearby ditch. He was
transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital with numerous injuries and was pronounced
deceased. No other individuals are believed to have been inside the vehicle. No officers were injured during
this incident. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences completed an autopsy and determined the
means of death as Accident and the cause of death as Asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by food bolus.
