The caller, Timothy LEJEUNE advised his stepson, Paul STONE, told him to take his pistol because he wanted to “blow his head off” and was thinking about killing the caller and his mother as well. The caller stated there was still a shotgun inside the residence. Officers contacted Lequetta LEJEUNE and her husband, Timothy LEJEUNE down the block from the residence. LEJEUNE advised her son had problems with alcohol, was highly intoxicated, and had recent thoughts about killing them as well as himself. LEJEUNE advised they were both extremely uncomfortable staying in the house based on these statements. Officers contacted STONE, who exited the front door of the residence armed with a shotgun. STONE raised the shotgun, pointing it at officers down the street while making verbal threats to kill officers on the phone. When STONE raised the shotgun, threatening officers, a single shot was fired from a precision rifle, striking STONE. STONE died at the scene. An autopsy was performed on STONE by the Collin County Medical Examiners office. The case was presented to the Collin County Grand Jury by Texas Ranger Reuben Mankin and the Grand Jury no-billed the officer in the shooting. This has been ruled a justifiable homicide.
