Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On 1/10/21 at about 5:40pm Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600blk of Carrolton Ave in
Killeen, Bell County, Texas, in reference to a domestic disturbance involving a suspect with some known
mental health issues. The first officer arrived and made contact with family members inside the residence,
and then stepped outside to await the arrival of back up officers before making direct contact with the
suspect.
The suspect exited the residence and attempted to attack the officer, who gave multiple commands for him to
stop. The officer attempted to create physical distance from the suspect, who continued to advance. The
officer used his Taser, and the suspect fell to the ground. Despite officer commands the suspect was able to
remove the Taster prongs and got up again advancing on the officer in an attempt to attack him.
