Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On October 1, 2018, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force (comprised of multiple agencies) obtained information on the location of a person wanted on four outstanding felony warrants. Officers arrived at the location and secured a perimeter. A person exited the residence and affirmed the wanted person was inside. As officers approached the front door, the suspect attempted to exit through a back door of the residence. Two officers confronted the suspect, who was holding a handgun. The suspect refused commands to drop the handgun and officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect. EMS paramedics arrived and determined the suspect had no signs of life.
