Summary:
On January 6, 2019, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to an Abduction/Kidnapping
incident. Deputies arrived and attempted to speak to the offender, who held the victim at gunpoint. The
offender barricaded himself in a bedroom with the victim and made threats to kill him. SWAT personnel and
Hostage Negotiators responded and arrived. After several hours, SWAT personnel breached the bedroom
door and entered. The victim ran to safety as SWAT personnel searched the room. As a SWAT member
cleared the closet with his handgun drawn, the offender grabbed the SWAT member's handgun and
attempted to gain possession of it. Another SWAT member approached the closet and discharged his
handgun, striking the offender. EMS personnel were escorted in and determined the offender to have no
signs of life.
