He had underlying medical problems and contracted the Covid-19 virus. Descendant had been transported to the hospital on different occasions for treatment of Covid-19 and was returned to the detention center. Descendant had been placed in a single cell and put on oxygen. Descendant was found unresponsive by jail officer during check. EMS was notified and arrived at the detention center but was unable to revive descendant. Texas Ranger's were notified to preform the In Custody Death Investigation.
