On March 16, 2017 at about 2036 hours Bandera County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Bolt was dispatched to 1070

entry.
After Deputy Bolt arrived at the location Michael Sanders advanced towards him in an aggressive manner,
Bolt deployed his Tazer on Sanders with little or no affect.
Bolt gave Sanders several commands to stop advancing, Sanders then produced a knife and continued to
charge at Deputy Bolt. Bolt continued to give Sanders commands to stop advancing and to drop the knife.
Deputy Bolt felt his life was in danger and feared for his safety and discharged his duty issued weapon
striking Sanders twice, one center mass chest area and once more on the forehead upper left temple area
which incapacitated Sanders. Sanders died at the scene a short time later.
