Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On March 17, 2021, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a Weapons Disturbance, where a male stood outside wearing a blood soaked shirt, carrying a knife, and yelling at customers. Deputies arrived and attempted to speak to the male. The male walked away from the deputies and refused to cooperate. Deputies discharged their Tasers causing the male to fall onto the roadway, where numerous items fell out of the male's shorts pockets, including the knife. Deputies attempted to handcuff the male as he continued to actively resist being handcuffed. The male reached for and grabbed the knife on the street. Deputies retreated and fired their handguns at the male, striking him.
