Summary of Incident
Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On October 22, 2017, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to numerous calls for a male
(decedent) arguing with a female and shooting a handgun at random vehicles. The decedent approached a
couple and forced them into their vehicle at gunpoint. The decedent forced them to drive their vehicle away
from the location. Deputies located the car-jacked vehicle and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the
decedent occupied the driver's seat and led deputies on a chase. The decedent ran a red light on a feeder
road and caused a major crash by striking another vehicle. The decedent exited the vehicle and ran towards
a gas station parking lot, followed by deputies. The decedent stopped, turned towards deputies with a raised
handgun, and stated he was going to kill himself. The decedent shot himself in the head and was pronounced
deceased on scene.
