Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On May 30, 2023, after a high-speed pursuit, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Troopers became involved in a standoff with Marcela Flores in Big Foot, Texas. Ms. Flores displayed a firearm and barricaded herself inside her vehicle. After several hours, Ms. Flores fled from her car on foot while pointing her pistol to her chest. Law enforcement repeatedly asked Ms. Flores to drop the firearm. Ms. Flores committed suicide by shooting herself in the chest.
