Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 9/4/2023, LEON MINNIEFIELD Attempted Capital Murder on 3 civilian subjects he had a civil disagreement with by firing a handgun at them striking 2 of the subjects, prior to law enforcement arriving at the scene. MINNIEFIELD shot several rounds while inside his residence after law enforcement had his house surround. Law enforcement attempting to loud hail the subject out and into custody. After several minutes MINNIEFIELD did exit his back door walking with two handguns and fired them toward McLennan County Sheriff Deputies and DPS Troopers. MCSO Deputy shot a rifle as well as two DPS Troopers. MINNIEFIELD turned around and collapsed on the back door steps and was non-responsive to law enforcement. Law Enforcement approached with the use of a armor vehicle for protection several minutes later finding MINNIEFIELD deceased. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
