Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: The primary officer and an officer in Field Training were sitting in a parking lot working on a report. The suspect approached the vehicle yelling that he was going to kill a cop. The officers exited the vehicle and Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- drew their service weapon when they observed the suspect with a knife in their hand. The suspect then moved away from officers into a field lined with trees. The officer yelled commands for the suspect to drop the weapon and get on the ground. Commands were ignored and the suspect entered the tree line. The suspect came back out of the tree line and advanced on the officers with the knife. A TASER was deployed but the suspect cut the wires and continued advancing on officers. A second TASER cartridge was deployed with no effect and the suspect continued to approach officers while swinging the knife around.
