On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Houston Police Officers assigned to the Auto Theft
Division, were conducting an auto theft investigation to conduct a traffic stop on a white Chevy Silverado
towing a trailer. As officers attempted to stop the white Chevy, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The

to get away. Officer J. Anderson arrived in the area and observed Mr. Hardeman fitting the description
provided over the radio. Officer Anderson escorted him back to the scene. Mr. Hardeman displayed signs of
being winded and tired from fleeing on foot. Officer Anderson placed Mr. Hardeman in the back of a patrol
vehicle. HFD was requested to the scene to evaluate Mr. Hardeman, While HFD was evaluating Mr.
Hardeman he went unconscious. HFD removed him from the patrol vehicle and began administering CPR.
