Life saving measures were attempted, but were unsuccessful. Heyward was pronounced deceased in the facility. An autopsy was conducted and the results revealed Heyward died as a result of saddle pulmonary embolism due to deep venous thromboses. There were no signs of assault or foul play at the scene.
