Upon arrival, officers were confronted by an adult male suspect outside the residence who fired a weapon at the officers. An officer returned fire, striking the suspect, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The female victim who had been shot by the suspect prior to officers' arrival was transported to a hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
