Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: Westside HPD Patrol Officers were actively searching for a suspect believed to be involved in multiple aggravated robberies in the area. Officers had obtained a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle, including its license plate. Officers located a vehicle matching the description, and when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the decedent briefly stopped to inquire about the reason for the stop before jumping back in his vehicle and fleeing the scene. After a brief pursuit, the decedent stopped his vehicle and exited while holding two firearms: one in each hand. The decedent made a statement that he was facing a lot of charges and asked his mom who was standing outside, if he should end it here now. Officers gave repeated verbal command for the decedent to drop his weapons, but he failed to comply and raise one the firearms toward officers. In response, officers discharged their weapons, striking the decedent multiple times. Officers rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and he was pronounced deceased Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- at 1938 hours. No officers were injured during this incident.
