Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- On July 13, 2018 at approximately 3:45am the subject was a suspect in an aggravated robbery of a pickup truck at the Target located at 6464 E. Northwest Hwy. At approximately 4:45am the stolen vehicle driven by the subject was involved in multiple accidents at 3411 Indianola Street. A witness, who observed the accidents, attempted to prevent the subject from driving away from the scene. The witness jumped inside the cab of the truck and a struggle ensued. During the struggle the subject produced a handgun and fired a round at the witness and missed. The witness retreated and the subject continued to drive from the location. Patrol officers located the truck and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The subject wrecked the truck at the end of a cul-de-sac at the 9300 Havencove Drive. The subject exited the vehicle and then re-entered the vehicle while appearing to look for an object.Officers continued to give the subject clear loud verbal commands to show them his hands and exit the vehicle. The subject stood on the driver side door jam of the vehicle and displayed a handgun. Officers continued to give verbal commands which the subject intentionally did not obey. The subject made a furtive gesture with the handgun and officers discharged their weapons. The subject expired from his injuries at the scene. The complainants' property from the aggravated robbery was found on the subjects' person. A handgun was recovered at the scene next to the subject. Custodial Death Report :: Page 7 of 7
