Yes, mark which Under Restraint: restraint devices were used Type of restraint Type of Restraint: Handcuffs Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, around 10:p.m., The Houston Police Department (HPD) SWAT Detail assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in an operation at 7647 Harrisburg Boulevard, Houston, Texas (HPD Incident# 150372018). While HPD SWAT officers were attempting to affect an arrest on several suspects, Suspect Lawrence fled the scene in a vehicle and crashed near 100 E. Navigation. That suspect then fled on foot and was apprehended with the help of an HPD Canine Officer. The suspect was transported back to the original scene where he began to complain of chest pain and problems breathing and soon became unresponsive. HFD personnel immediately treated him on scene and then transported him to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead; his cause of death is unknown at this time. Seven other suspects were detained and one other suspect was shot by SWAT officers. Charges and autopsy results are still pending.
