Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: Officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a call for service in reference to a suicidal subject armed with a handgun. Officers made contact with the subject and made efforts to de-escalate. While officers were attempting to de-escalate the situation, the subject opened fire on officers and officers returned fire. Upon conclusion of the gunfire, the subject was able to be contacted and secured. Once being contacted the subject was found to have apparent gunshot wounds. Medical aid was summoned for the subject. The subject was determined to be deceased. A perimeter for the scene was then marked and kept secure for investigative purposes.
