West is the domestic partner of Donald Wills’, Jerry Wills. On 06-26-2019, West had assaulted Jerry to the point he required hospitalization, West believed Jerry was at the brother’s house recovering from the assault. West, armed with a shotgun, entered the residence and confronted Donald and Paulette in the kitchen. West directed them to the living room. Unknown to West, a third person was in the residence and witnessed West confront the Wills with the weapon. The witness called the Denton County Sheriff’s Office and reported the incident. Two Denton County Deputies responded and met the witness outside the residence. The witness advised the deputies to enter the residence through the open garage. As deputies entered the residence through the kitchen area, they observed the West, announced their presence and directed him to show them his hands. At this point West turned towards the deputies and fired one round from his shotgun. Both deputies returned fire and West was struck multiple times. EMS arrived a short time later, by then West had expired and was announced dead on the scene. This investigation was turned over to the Texas Rangers.
