A single officer contacted both parties in the open garage and as the officer attempted to arrest the decedent,
a struggle ensued. The decedent was tazed by the officer, but it did not have the desired effect. The struggle
between the officer and the decedent continued both inside and outside of the residence, until the decedent
attempted to flee in his truck. As the decedent was reversing, the struggle continued while the officer was still
in the door opening. This led to the officer fearing for his life and resulted in the officer discharging his duty
weapon striking the decedent. First aid was provided by officers, and the male was transported by medics to
a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
