Summary of Incident
Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 1835 hours, Houston Police Department (HPD) Midwest Patrol
Division and Patrol Support Team (PST) arrived at a Disturbance with a Weapon – Family Violence call at the
Riveraine Apartments located at 9301 Beechnut Street #2424, Houston, Harris County, Texas 77036.
The officers learned that the husband and the wife were separated; the wife moved out and was living with
their son. The husband came over to the son’s apartment, forced his way inside when the wife opened the
door, and assaulted the wife (he slapped her in the face and choked her). The wife was able to push him off
and ran out of the apartment as the son was coming home. The husband followed the wife with a kitchen
knife on hand. Their son attempted to get in the middle and contacted the police. The husband threw the knife
at the wife and son and went back inside of the apartment.
HPD officers arrived and made contact with the son and the wife in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
The officers observed the husband inside the apartment, looking out the window but he refused to come out.

The officers attempted to call him on the phone, but he refused to answer. After he Harris County DA’s office
was consulted and Burglary of Habitation with intent to assault (FV) charge was accepted, PST officers
breached the front door, flew a drone inside the apartment, and found the husband hung by the neck on the
closet door. The PST officers made entry into the apartment, cut the rope the husband used to hand himself,
and provided medical attention. The Huston Fire Department, already staged at the scene, pronounced him
deceased at 2100 hrs.
The wife fainted while speaking to the police therefore she was transported to a local hospital; she was
released from the hospital that same night. No other injuries were reported during this incident.
