Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: The suspect was traveling southbound on 145N at a high rate of speed. The suspect passed a marked unit, who then activated his emergency lights in an attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect fled and exited the freeway, traveling on the service road. As the suspect's vehicle approached Rankin Road, in the inside lane, which is designated as a U-tum land, the suspect failed to negotiate the tum and struck a raised concrete median. The vehicle crossed the median, entered and crossed the westbound lanes of Rankin Road, struck the center raised median and crossed it.The vehicle then entered and crossed the eastbound lanes of Rankin Road and struck a raised concrete median again, this time striking a large metal cabinet used to house the electrical components for the stop lights at the intersection. The decedent was asleep next to the cabinet and was struck by the suspect's vehicle. The decedent was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
