Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On October 16, 20021, at approximately 5:36 am, a Laredo Police Officer conducts a traffic stop on a vehicle that matches the description of a vehicle committing shots fired in the area. After the initial encounter and conversation, Officer is observed giving commands to driver while walking backwards from the driver's side window, Officer is then seen shooting into the drivers side area, while an assisting Officer who had approached the passenger's side window is also seen opening fire into the driver of the vehicle. After a few minutes of Officers giving commands for driver to step out of vehicle, Officers take out the unresponsive driver who was in possession of a handgun and a rifle was also located. The driver was administered first aid, but is eventually pronounced dead at scene. Criminal and Internal investigation are currently underway. Autopsy is currently pending.
