The sheriff’s office received an emergency call from a female caller citing her 35-year-old husband kicked in a door to their home, yelling at her to kill him. The wife escaped to a nearby bathroom and locked herself in it until she heard the husband depart. The wife called 9-1-1 and reported this information to the dispatcher to include the fact he had left armed with a large knife. Two uniformed deputies responded to the address and later located the male subject in question. The male was observed to have a knife in his hand and, at some point, charged the deputies in an attempt to assault them. The suspect's actions caused one of Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- the deputies to discharge his issued 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun at the suspect. The suspect was reportedly shot multiple times with injuries to his legs and chest. Deputies immediately began life saving measures and called for medical assistance. Texas Ranger Jeremy Wallace was contacted and requested to conduct the officer involved shooting investigation. Custodial Death Report :: Page 7 of 7
