Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On July 31, 2024, around 9:30 PM, Killeen Police Department officers were dispatched to the 9500 block of
Glynhill Court, Killeen, TX, about a Subject Armed with a Weapon- In Progress. A Caller called 9-1-1 to report
a male in the yard pointing a gun at the Caller's husband. The Caller stated that the armed subject claimed
that someone was chasing him. The Caller updated the call and advised that the armed subject did not point
the firearm at anyone but had it in his hand. Killeen Police Department officers arrived on the scene and
located the subject standing in the roadway holding a handgun. Officers gave the armed subject commands
to drop the firearm, but he did not comply. The armed subject had raised the handgun and pulled the trigger,
but the weapon did not discharge. The armed subject then manipulated the firearm to cycle another round
into the chamber. The subject then raised the firearm to his head and discharged the firearm. At the same
time, a Killeen Police Department officer discharged his firearm. The subject fell straight to the ground and
had an apparent gunshot wound to his head. The gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted at close range.
No other injuries were located. Killeen EMS arrived on the scene and determined that the subject had Injuries
Incompatible with Life. Killeen EMS did not perform any life-saving measures. The subject was taken to the
Southwestern Institute of Forensics Science in Dallas, TX, for an autopsy.
The autopsy report showed:
The cause of death is a Contact gunshot wound of the head, and the Manner of Death is a Suicide.
