Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
Suspect was wanted for an outstanding warrant for Indecency with a child - with contact. On 12/2/24 at
approximately 2113 hours, Officers were notified by way of a license plate reader camera system that the
suspect was in the area of the victim's residence. Officers responded to the residence where the victim was
currently located. On the way to the residence, Officers observed the suspect vehicle driving towards the
residence where the offense took place and where the victim resides. On 12/2/24 at approximately 2116
hours, Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle at which point the suspect barricaded himself
in the vehicle and displayed a firearm. The suspect then placed the gun to his head and refused to exit the
vehicle. Members of the Deer Park SWAT and Negotiations teams were deployed to the location and began
negotiations with the suspect. On 12/2/24 at approximately 2335 hours, members of the SWAT team
deployed one deployable pepper spray round which shattered the rear window of the suspects vehicle. A
second deployable pepper spray round was delivered into the vehicle, striking the front windshield of the
vehicle. After the second pepper spray round was deployed into the vehicle, the suspect shot himself in the
head. SWAT members approached the vehicle and called for members of the Deer Park EMS (staged in the
area) to assist with life saving measures. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.
