Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, Darryl Williams was assigned to a direct supervision housing unit at the Brazos County Detention Center. At approximately 1915hrs inmates in the housing unit notified the officer that Mr. Williams was not well. Mr. Williams told the officer that he was fine but the officer could tell something was wrong and immediately notified the medical department. Medical staff arrived in the dorm within 45 seconds and began evaluating Mr. Williams. Mr. Williams became unresponsive and had a high blood pressure reading. An ambulance was called and Mr. Williams was transported to the hospital. After being evaluated at the hospital we learned that Mr. Williams had a brain bleed that could not be operated on. After Mr. William’s family members arrived throughout the night and next day he was removed from life support and passed away on August 24, 2017 at 1739hrs. An autopsy was ordered and performed the morning of August 25, 2017. The cause of death was determined to be Stroke. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
