Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On October 31, 2025, an off-duty Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy walked out of his residence carrying his child. The deputy placed his child in a car seat in the backseat of his personal vehicle. The decedent walked down the street and approached the deputy. The decedent reached inside of the vehicle through the passenger side, and the deputy retrieved his handgun and ordered him to get back numerous times. The decedent opened the passenger side door and attempted to enter the vehicle. The deputy discharged his handgun, striking the decedent. Paramedics arrived and transported the decedent to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a medical doctor. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
