Under Restraint: No Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 7 --- PAGE BREAK --- Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Houston Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to 6721 Langdon Ln., where an unknown black male suspect forced his way into the home and attacked the elderly resident of the household, strangling one of the occupants. While inside of the home, the suspect obtained a knife from the kitchen. The next-door neighbor, wielding a pistol, went to assist the owners of the home. When officers arrived, they found the owners of the residence in the hallway as the next-door neighbor was tussling with the suspect in the bedroom of the residence. The next door neighbor informed officers that the suspect gained possession of his (the neighbor's) firearm. Officers gave commands for the suspect to drop the weapon; however, he ignored the officers commands and pointed the weapon in the direction of the officers. Officers discharged their firearms fearing for their safety and the safety of the residents in the home. The suspect continued to reach for the firearm, refusing to comply with officers orders. Officers discharged their firearms at the suspect striking him multiple times. The officers then attempted to provide emergency medical services by applying tourniquets and chest seals to the suspect until HFD arrived. The suspect succumbed to his injuries. HFD medics pronounced the suspect deceased on the scene. One of the complainants was transported to the hospital with minor injuries to chest and legs but was released later that evening.
