On August 29, 2024, at 10:04 PM, a Dallas Police Officer pulled into the For Oak Cliff Community Center
parking lot at 907 E. Ledbetter Drive and parked. At about 10:06 PM, a muffled noise was heard over the
radio from the officer and two separate officers were dispatched to check on him. It was later learned that the

arrived and observed the suspect entering a white Buick and directed other patrol officers who were arriving
at the scene to pursue the vehicle westbound on Ledbetter. The pursuit went north on I35 into Lewisville. At
the end of the pursuit, the suspect exited his vehicle and pointed an AR style 12-gauge shotgun with a drum
magazine at officers and he was fatally shot by multiple officers.
