On 04/20/2024 at approximately 0036am, several on-duty uniformed police officers responded to the 5400
block of Burnham Drive in response to a call for service involving a male and female having a disturbance
with shots fired. Officers located the residence and attempted to make contact with the occupants. Upon
opening the front door and observing the officers, the decedent immediately attempted to close the door and
flee from officers. A struggle ensued, whereas the decedent produced a handgun and shot one officer and
attempted to shoot the second officer. The second officer returned fire, striking the descendent several times
and neutralizing the threat. The decedent expired at the scene. The injured officer was transported to a local
hospital, where he later expired. A female occupant was discovered inside the residence unharmed. No other
