Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
City of League City PD dispatchers put out a call for service to their patrol officers of a robbery in progress at
a convenient store located at 3199 Tuscan Lakes Blvd/E FM 646 in League City/Galveston County. An
on-duty GCSO patrol deputy was travelling east bound on FM 646 from FM 270 and just as he cleared the
intersection at Tuscan Lakes Blvd, he heard the LCPD call for service broadcast on his mobile radio in scan
mode. The GCSO deputy then executed a u-turn on FM 646 and returned back to the intersection at FM
646/Tuscan Lakes Blvd. and proceeded into the parking lot of the convenient store on the east side of the
parking lot. As the GCSO patrol deputy approached the store in his unit, he noticed an individual appearing to
be hiding behind a corner column structure attached to the building. The GCSO deputy then exited his clearly
marked unit with his service weapon in hand and commanded the suspect to come out from behind the
column and show his hands. The suspect then came out from the opposite side of the column with what
appeared to be a handgun in his right hand. The suspect then, while proceeding to come out from behind the
column, switched the handgun from his right hand to his left hand and then pointed it at the GCSO deputy as
he ran toward the deputy's patrol unit. The GCSO deputy then responded by firing his service weapon at the
suspect several times until the suspect collapsed to the ground. The GCSO deputy then immediately
summons EMS to his location along with additional units. EMS later arrived and confirmed the suspects
death.
